The Preparations
Both you and the environment must be right! It is pointless trying to scry the Ball in a room full of people or in a noisy, distracting location. Best of all is to be alone in a room without noise or too much light - direct sunlight should always be avoided when scrying. At most just two other people should be present and anyone not directly involved with the reading should be silent and still. To help reading, drape a dark (black is best) non-reflective cloth to give a backdrop at the back of and beneath the Ball. For example you could stack a small pile of books and drape a cloth over them.
Some like to have a candle burning at the rear or to one side of the Ball (always take care and read the instructions when using candles). They believe this ‘activates' the Ball but it can also be a distraction and is not recommended for beginners.
Reading the Crystal Ball
Now you are ready to scry! The most important thing to emphasise for a beginner is not to expect immediate results. It is not a TV! A very special and delicate rapport needs to be developed between the reader and the ball which may come almost immediately to some but usually takes longer, perhaps months.
Please do not be discouraged if your first sessions don't produce results, some of the finest scryers also found it very difficult to start.
The keywords are relaxation and concentration! You need to be ‘switched off' from the world around you with all its worries and distractions and see only the Ball. Let it fill your vision and your mind. Don't worry about time. After a period you will begin to see some change in the Ball. This varies between scryers - - some see the Ball filling with milky clouds which change into different colours and then darkness followed by the appearance of images within the Ball - some see wispy white clouds which move through the crystal forming shapes of people and objects. - some see written messages - some see clear ‘cinema quality films' portraying events past, present and future You may find any of these or some other type of depiction.
The images may not be very clear, especially at first. You may see shapes and silhouettes rather than sharp pictures
INTERPRETING
There are two possibilities - the images you see may be either actual or symbolic. This may sound confusing but in practice you will know instinctively which is which. Most scryers will see both images types at different times and sometimes in the same session.
If you see actual events they may appear like a movie or a sequence of images which depict some event or occurrence. Again you will ‘know' whether this is in the past, present or future although some scryers adopt a rule using the position of the image in the Ball - at the centre the ball it represents the present, at the back the past and in the front the future.
The very back of the ball is the distant past, the very front the distant future with progressions in-between
